## Rules (summary, verify on official pages)
- Purchases before 2026-11-01: old tax_off regime (tax removed at the till).
- From 2026-11-01: refund method. Pay tax-inclusive; claim after customs confirms export.
- Tax inside price: floor(amount * rate / (100 + rate)), whole yen. Rates 10% standard / 8% reduced.
- Eligibility: ≥ ¥5,000 tax-exclusive per store per day.
- Deadline: purchase date + 90 days (NTA: counted from the day after purchase; bought 2026-11-01 → by 2027-01-30).
- Claim before bag check at final departure airport/seaport. Operators may deduct a fee.
